The story
Maren & Ash opened in 2019 with three chairs and a rule we have never broken: nobody is double-booked.
That means your colourist stays with you from consultation to blow-dry, and it means we turn away more work than we take. We think you can tell the difference in the mirror. Our team trains twice a year in Los Angeles and London, and we carry only lines we would put on our own hair — Oway, Davines, and a short list of clinical-grade skincare we can actually explain to you.

Colour & correction
Single process, balayage, lived-in blonde, and the corrections other salons turned down. Complex colour is booked as a half or full day so we are never rushing a toner.

Dermaplaning, chemical peels and microneedling with a licensed aesthetician. We map a course of treatments rather than selling you a single miracle appointment.

Trial, day-of styling, and a schedule that accounts for photographs starting earlier than anyone plans for. We travel within the Portland metro.

Fifteen minutes before we start. Photos welcome. We will tell you honestly what is achievable in one visit.

One stylist, start to finish. Tea, decent wifi, and no rush toward the next booking.

A written routine and a re-book reminder timed to your grow-out, not to our calendar.

Answers before you have to ask.
Do you charge for a consultation?+
No. Fifteen-minute consultations are free and carry no obligation to book. For major colour corrections we ask for a photo beforehand so we can set aside the right amount of time.
How far ahead should I book?+
Two to three weeks for cuts, three to four for colour, and six weeks or more for bridal. We hold a small number of same-week slots for existing guests.
What is your cancellation policy?+
Twenty-four hours' notice, no charge. Inside twenty-four hours we ask for 50% of the service, because the chair usually cannot be refilled that late.
Can I request a specific stylist?+
Yes, and we encourage it. Continuity is most of why colour keeps improving visit over visit.
